So, in the continuing "terrible life choices" theme of my life, I've signed up for NaNo. I have no idea how that's going to go, but at least crashing and burning should be a little instructive, right?

Haha, I am done my first year! Well, technically, I've been done since Friday, I've just been busy since then.

We sadly still don't have an apartment for next year, but we've got a couple possibilities we're pretty sure will come through between now and September, so that's good.

I do enjoy reading published works where the love sub-plot  is non-heteronormative. It's not a big deal or anything, or even the focus of the plot, it just. .  .  . . .isn't the tired old tropes trotted out again.

First indication I should stick with this dude like glue;

"Of course, I really think the only way to make it better would be to make the Kirk/Spock canonical."

Between that and the way he got the "salt and burn it" joke I made,and let me take pictures of his nipples(there was actually a good reason for that one), I think I'm in love.

Important Things I Have Learned:

1.  Motherfucking ow, peeling sunburns hurt.

2.  I appear have to inherited my dad's tolerance for booze, wh00t.

3.  Jumping out of windows means neck cramps and tongue bites. And everyone laughs at me.

4.  Very few people spell their names the Dutch way, and I am a freak for asking.

So, I 've finally gotten around to changing my layout. I dunno if I like it yet, but I wanted a change, so we'll see.

Anyways, today has been a good day. I:

• slept for a whole twelve hours
• worked on a shitton of stuff
• and actually accomplished things(!)
• had mint tea and actual chocolate
• admired the snow still hanging around

So, we're going to the university for a "research day" tomorrow. Yeah. Right. 
Anyway, I might be able do something. Or not, depending on what my actual topic is. Which I actually don't know, since apparently all the ideas I've come up with so far are somehow tragically flawed, and I don't know how.  I can at least look for some more translations- I ( Read more... )
